LeBron James scored 17 points on his 41st birthday, Slovenian star Luka Doncic had 30 points and 11 assists for the Lakers, but Cade Cunningham had 27 points and 11 assists while leading the Detroit Pistons to a 128-106 win.
It was the third straight win for Detroit over the Lakers, proving that the top team of the East is no fluke.
VJ Edgecombe scored 25 points, including a 3-pointer with 1.7 seconds left in overtime, giving the Sixers a 139-136 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies, who got 15 points by Spaniard Santi Aldama.
Bosnian big man Jusuf Nurkic had a season-high 26, and Finn Lauri Markkanen added 22, but the Celtics got the 129-119 win over the Utah Jazz.
Kawhi Leonard scored 33 points and the Los Angeles Clippers extended their winning streak to a season-best five games with a 131-90 victory over the Sacramento Kings.
