NBA results and standings: Şengün outduels Wembanyama, Dončić and Nurkić post triple-doubles

Alperen Şengün went head-to-head with Victor Wembanyama in the Texas derby and came out on top.

Led by the Turkish center, the Houston Rockets defeated the San Antonio Spurs 111–106 to improve to 26–15, while the Spurs fell to 30–15.

Şengün shined with 20 points and 13 rebounds, finishing just one assist shy of a triple-double. Wembanyama also recorded a double-double, posting 14 points and 10 assists.

Elsewhere, the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Denver Nuggets on the road 115–107 behind a brilliant performance by Luka Dončić.

The Slovenian star poured in 38 points, adding 13 rebounds and 10 assists to lead the Lakers to a much-needed win against a shorthanded Nuggets team still awaiting the return of Nikola Jokić.

In Salt Lake City, the Utah Jazz hosted the Minnesota Timberwolves without Lauri Markkanen, but Keyonte George and Jusuf Nurkić led the way in a 127–122 victory.

George exploded for 43 points, while Nurkić posted a triple-double with 16 points, 18 rebounds, and 10 assists. Rudy Gobert finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Minnesota.
