Almost a year ago, the Dallas Mavericks decided to trade Luka Dončić to the Los Angeles Lakers in a blockbuster move that shook the entire NBA. Since then, every one of Dončić’s returns to the American Airlines Center has been emotionally charged.
Once again, the Slovenian star reminded the home crowd what they lost, as he led the Lakers to a 116–110 comeback victory with another stellar outing.
Dončić finished the game with 33 points, 11 assists, and eight rebounds. The Lakers trailed by as many as 14 points in the fourth quarter, but rallied behind their leader to secure the win.
Elsewhere, Alex Sarr scored 24 points in the Washington Wizards’ 119–115 road loss to the Charlotte Hornets. His compatriot Moussa Diabaté recorded a double-double for the hosts with 11 points and 14 rebounds.
The New York Knicks earned a road win against the Philadelphia 76ers, prevailing 112–109, with OG Anunoby leading the way with 23 points. Guerschon Yabusele saw limited action, playing fewer than three minutes.
The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic 119–105 on the road, as Moritz Wagner scored 13 points for Orlando.
The Chicago Bulls edged the Boston Celtics 114–111, with Nikola Vučević posting 16 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, while Matas Buzelis added 14 points and eight rebounds.
Finally, the Miami Heat dominated the Utah Jazz on the road, cruising to a 147–116 victory. Nikola Jović led the way with 23 points, Pelle Larsson added 20, Simone Fontecchio contributed 14, and Kasparas Jakucionis finished with 12 points. Despite the loss, Jusuf Nurkić recorded another triple-double for Utah with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists.
