A three-team trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers, Sacramento Kings, and Chicago Bulls is set. The deal includes Europeans Dennis Schroder and Dario Saric of the Sacramento Kings.
As reported by ESPN’s Shams Charania on Saturday, the 32-year-old German guard will be moving to the Cleveland Cavaliers upon official confirmation of the trade, with the 31-year-old Croatian forward/center heading to the Chicago Bulls. Also, De’Andre Hunter is switching from the Cavs to the Kings, Keon Ellis from the Kings to the Cavs, and the Bulls are securing two future second-round draft picks.
This will be the eighth career trade for Schroder, shortly following his controversial opinion about these transactions in the league. Meanwhile, Saric is involved in his fifth trade.
The native of Braunschweig is under contract until the end of the 2027-28 season, but the final year is partially guaranteed. Starting his 13th NBA journey with the Kings and logging 40 appearances, he tallied 12.8 points, 5.3 assists, 3.1 rebounds, 0.8 steals, and 0.2 blocks per contest. Saric is becoming an unrestricted free agent after this season, his ninth in the NBA, in which he has played only five games, averaging 1.0 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.4 assists per contest.
To create the necessary space for the Sibenik native, the Bulls are waiving 30-year-old Jevon Carter. In a facilitating role, they got a Denver Nuggets selection in 2027 via the Cavaliers and the least favorable between the respective selections of the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Knicks in 2029 via the Kings.
