NBA fines Jason Kidd for public criticism of the officiating

Jason Kidd has been fined $35,000 by the NBA. The Dallas Mavericks’ coach is sanctioned for public criticism of the officiating against the Houston Rockets on January 31 at Toyota Center.

The NBA made a statement about the decision:

Dallas Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd has been fined $35,000 for public criticism of the officiating and using profane language during a media interview, it was announced today by James Jones, Executive Vice President, Head of Basketball Operations. 

Kidd made his comments postgame following the Mavericks’ 111-107 loss to the Houston Rockets on Jan.31 at Toyota Center. 

The Dallas Mavericks are currently 11th in the Western Conference with a 19-30 record and four losses in a row.
