After scoring 12 points in the 2026 NBA All-Star Game with Team Stripes, Kevin Durant joined the majority of his peers in approving the league’s revamped tournament format. However, the media’s focus quickly shifted from the court to Durant’s potential influence on the ongoing plans to launch a new top-tier league in Europe.

“I wouldn’t say I’m involved in the process,” Durant remarked during a postgame press conference at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood. “I’m prepared to talk about it if it presents itself. For now, I haven’t heard too much, just rumors and narratives. Once it starts to form, hopefully I can be a part of it, pushing the game all around the world.”

The 37-year-old Houston Rockets forward holds a strategic minority stake in Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) via his firm, Boardroom. PSG has been formally linked to the joint venture between the NBA and FIBA, a project widely labeled as NBA Europe.

During the All-Star tournament, Durant’s Stripes reached the championship round but ultimately fell to the Stars. Reflecting on the new format, the 16-time All-Star noted a significant shift in intensity.

“I thought we played well today. All three teams came out and played good ball,” Durant recapped. “The last one was tough. They hit a lot of shots. But it was definitely a step up in the competitive department compared to last season.”

Durant continues to defy age in the 2025-26 Regular Season, averaging 25.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 4.4 assists over 50 appearances.
