Following a successful Golden State Warriors debut, Kristaps Porzingis is expected to return to the lineup for Saturday’s matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers at Chase Center. The 30-year-old Latvian center sat out the previous three contests due to what the team officially designated as a general illness. Head coach Steve Kerr expressed optimism regarding his availability to face former teammate Luka Doncic, noting that he has been officially listed as questionable.
Addressing recent speculation during an interview on 95.7 The Game’s “Willard & Dibs,” Kerr dismissed online rumors suggesting Porzingis was suffering from Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome, POTS. The veteran tactician labeled such reports as “misinformation,” reaffirming that the player’s recent time away was strictly related to the team’s official injury report. Porzingis previously tallied 12 points in just 17 minutes during his debut against the Boston Celtics and is eager to ramp up his workload, following practicing without limitations on Friday.
However, the Warriors continue to navigate a significant void left by Stephen Curry. The superstar guard is set to miss his tenth consecutive game in the 2025-26 NBA Regular Season as he recovers from right patellofemoral pain. This prolonged stint on the sidelines has officially triggered the NBA’s participation threshold, mathematically removing him from contention for any season-ending awards or All-NBA honors. Curry is scheduled for a formal medical re-evaluation on Sunday to determine his status for the upcoming week.
The injury report remains crowded, with Jimmy Butler III continuing his long-term recovery from right ACL surgery, while Seth Curry remains out due to left sciatic nerve irritation. On a more positive note, Draymond Green (low back injury management) has been upgraded to probable.
