NBA veteran center Ömer Yurtseven is headed back to the United States. According to Jake Fischer, the 7-footer has signed into the NBA G League and will join the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

Yurtseven, 25, returns stateside after spending the past two seasons in Greece with Panathinaikos B.C.. During his time overseas, he competed both the Greek Basket League and EuroLeague, but couldn’t find a major role.

Before his stint in Europe, Yurtseven logged NBA experience with the Miami Heat and the Utah Jazz. Now, the move to the G League represents both an opportunity and a proving ground. The Rio Grande Valley Vipers, long recognized as one of the G League’s most competitive and development-focused franchises, could offer Yurtseven a platform to showcase his growth against NBA-affiliated talent.

This season, the Turkish center averaged 6.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 8.4 PIR throughout 19 Euroleague games, 6 of them as a starter.
