NBA results & standings: Doncic hits game-winner against Jokic

As expected, the highly anticipated clash between Luka Doncic and Nikola Jokic delivered.

The Slovenian star hit a game-winning bucket with 0.5 seconds left in overtime to secure a 127-125 Los Angeles Lakers victory over the Denver Nuggets.

Austin Reaves forced the extra period after intentionally missing a free throw in the final seconds, grabbing the offensive rebound and scoring a floater with two seconds on the clock to tie the game. Still, it was Doncic who ultimately emerged as the hero.

Doncic finished with 30 points, 13 assists and 11 rebounds, while Jokic also recorded a triple-double with 24 points, 16 rebounds and 14 assists.

Elsewhere, Victor Wembanyama led the San Antonio Spurs to a 115-102 win over the Charlotte Hornets with 32 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists.

His fellow countryman Maxime Raynaud had 23 points in the Sacramento Kings’ 118-109 road win over the Los Angeles Clippers.

Neemias Queta erupted for 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Boston Celtics’ 111-100 victory over the Washington Wizards, while Tristan Vukcevic scored a season-high 22 points for the losing side.

Last but not least, Paolo Banchero led the Orlando Magic to a 121-117 road win over the Miami Heat with 27 points, eight rebounds and seven assists, while Tristan da Silva added 11 points and eight rebounds. Pelle Larsson finished with 15 points for the Heat.
