After securing a commanding victory over the Golden State Warriors at Ball Arena, Nikola Jokic took to the podium to reflect on the Denver Nuggets’ surging momentum. A seasoned veteran of the league, the Serbian center offered a characteristic mix of deadpan humor and sharp basketball insight as Denver extended its winning streak to six games in the 2025–26 NBA Regular Season.

The press conference was headlined by a lighter moment when the Joker was asked about the high praise from WNBA star Caitlin Clark, who named him her favorite NBA player to watch. Jokic didn’t miss a beat, playfully deflecting the compliment with a grin.

“We had the same agent. That’s why she said it,” he joked, momentarily breaking the serious atmosphere.

On the game itself, the 31-year-old big analyzed his side’s second-half explosion. After a somewhat sluggish start, the Nuggets overwhelmed Golden State with a barrage of perimeter shooting.

“It was a good response by us,” he noted. “I think that the first half was not that bad. Maybe we couldn’t make shots. I don’t know, it’s just part of the game. In that second half, we were much better. The intensity, the energy, the running, shooting, at the end we made 19 threes, so it’s definitely helping us when we shoot like that.”

When asked about the defensive adjustments mentioned by coach David Adelman, specifically the challenge of maintaining high intensity without getting into foul trouble, Jokic remained pragmatic. He dismissed the idea that he overthinks his aggression on that end of the floor. “No, it happens. Sometimes you don’t have energy, sometimes you make stupid fouls,” he replied simply.

As the Nuggets continue to solidify their standing in the Western Conference, the Sombor native remains focused on the bottom line. Reflecting on the team’s ability to grind out results during their current six-game run, he emphasized resilience over style. “We found a way,” he said. “I think we played some interesting games and some games with a lot of points, and we just found a way to win a game. I think in this period that is probably the most important thing.”

The Nuggets resume action on Wednesday, visiting the Utah Jazz at the Delta Center.
