Alex Antetokounmpo’s first appearance for the Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA sparked both excitement and emotion from his older brother Giannis.
Giannis, alongside Thanasis, watched from the sidelines as their youngest brother made his debut, logging three minutes under head coach Doc Rivers.
Alex, who primarily plays for the Bucks’ G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd, got his chance with the first team and made history — as it marked the first time three brothers have been part of an active NBA roster for the same franchise in a single season.
When Alex scored his first points, Giannis turned toward the bench and said with a smile:
“I can retire now. I’ve done everything.”
Shortly after, Alex shared his thoughts on his NBA debut:
“It’s amazing. Just seeing my brothers watching me and guiding me… I’ve always dreamed of a moment like this, and now I’ve lived it. It’s a dream come true. I grew up in Milwaukee — this is crazy. I can’t even count how many Bucks games I’ve watched in person. It’s truly incredible.”
