A heavyweight duel between Nikola Jokić and Victor Wembanyama delivered everything expected.

Elite shot-making, playmaking from the center position, and late-game drama — including a missed buzzer-beater by the French star — highlighted the clash.

After the game, Jokić once again didn’t hold back in his praise for Wemby, despite beating him in a direct matchup and delivering another masterclass performance.

I think the first time I played against him, I told you guys that he’s gonna change the league, he’s gonna change basketball. … I still think that and I think he has an opportunity, a chance to be the most unique basketball player to ever play the game,” he said.

Jokić led the Denver Nuggets with 40 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, and three blocks, while Wembanyama put up 34 points, 18 rebounds, seven assists, and five blocks for the San Antonio Spurs.

Denver moved to 50–28, staying right behind the Los Angeles Lakers in the race for the third spot in the West, while San Antonio remains near the top of the standings.
