The Los Angeles Lakers received a small boost ahead of Game 2 of their first-round playoff series against the Houston Rockets, as Luka Doncic returned to light on-court activities, offering cautious optimism about his recovery.
The Slovenian star, sidelined since April 2 with a hamstring strain, took part in non-contact drills during practice. While the session remained limited in intensity, his presence marked a step forward.
Head coach JJ Redick shared a positive update on Doncic’s progress:
“It’s been really nice. He definitely rebounded and passed in some shooting drills. … Having the group together two out of the last three days has been really nice,” Redick said.
Austin Reaves, who is dealing with an oblique strain, also joined light activities, though like Doncic, his status remains uncertain moving forward.
Both players missed Game 1, where the Lakers opened the series with a 107–98 win over Houston.
