Brandon Clarke, the power forward of the Memphis Grizzlies, passed away at the age of 29, as announced by multiple sources.
This tragic news was confirmed by the Grizzlies on social media.
““We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of Brandon Clarke. Brandon was an outstanding teammate and an even better person whose impact on the organization and the greater Memphis community will not be forgotten. We express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.”
The circumstances that led to his death are still unknown.
Clarke was arrested in the US just over a month ago, and 200 grams of kratom were found on him during a chase where he was driving over 100 miles per hour.
Brandon Clarke was drafted in 2019 by the Oklahoma City Thunder, and they immediately traded him to the Memphis Grizzlies. He played his entire career for this team, recording 323 games in the regular season and playoffs, averaging just over 10 points and about six rebounds per game.
