Wembanyama after shining in Game 6: “The key is to stay consistent”

San Antonio Spurs forced a Game 7 in the series against the Oklahoma City Thunder, after defeating the reigning NBA League champions 118-91 on their home court.

As usual, the best player for the Spurs was the Frenchman Victor Wembanyama, who finished the game with a double-double of 28 points and ten rebounds, along with three blocks.

After the game, Wembanyama appeared in front of the media, unlike Game 5, but he wasn’t very talkative this time either.

“First thing is listening to experience people (about Game 7), whether it’s on our team, our staff, or outside. We have a chance to have plenty of those around.

We were consistent, we did what we needed to do. Trusting the game, trusting the basketball gods. It was a great effort, should be consistent always, but it was great tonight. Outscoring them 20-2 in third quarter is not a realistic projection that we want to do. But, when we gather together, these moments will happen and the key is to stay consistent.”

Game 7 is scheduled for Sunday, at 02:00 CET.
