Giannis Antetokounmpo believes the New York Knicks are on track to win the NBA championship this season, despite the fact that their Finals opponent has yet to be determined, with the Western Conference Finals series between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs tied at 3-3.
Speaking during a live Twitch stream alongside Marlon, the Greek superstar pointed to the Knicks’ playoff form and the atmosphere surrounding the franchise as key reasons behind his prediction.
“I believe the Knicks are going to win the championship. Momentum plays a huge role in basketball. They’ve won 11 straight playoff games and the entire city is behind them,” Antetokounmpo said.
The Knicks are also among the teams frequently linked with Antetokounmpo in various reports regarding his long-term future, while the two-time MVP has previously been described as open to the idea of playing in New York one day.
