Luka Doncic spent Sunday in Belgrade as part of Jordan Brand’s “The One” tour, visiting several locations across the Serbian capital and drawing large crowds of fans wherever he appeared.
Speaking to local media, Doncic once again reiterated his affection for Crvena zvezda.
“I’m not that old yet, I still have some NBA years ahead of me. I’m not thinking about the end of my career, but maybe one day I’ll come to Crvena zvezda,” Doncic said per Tanjug.
Asked about the differences between basketball culture in the Balkans and the rest of the world, Doncic pointed to the style of play that has helped produce players such as Nikola Jokic.
“I think we play differently. We use our heads more. Nikola Jokic is the best example.”
Doncic also reflected on his basketball upbringing and the influence of one of Europe’s all-time greats.
“I fell in love with basketball as a kid. I still remember playing one-on-one after school. I didn’t really have role models outside of basketball, but when I was growing up, my favorite player was Vassilis Spanoulis.”
