Austin Reaves intends to sign a four-year, $185 million contract with the Lakers

Austin Reaves plans to sign a new maximum contract with the Los Angeles Lakers.

According to Shams Charania, Reaves wants to sign a four-year deal, which will earn him 185 million dollars, and will also include a player option in the final season.

“Los Angeles Lakers star Austin Reaves intends to sign a four-year, $185 million maximum contract to return to the franchise, with a player option for the final season in 2029-30, sources tell ESPN. Reaves declined his $14.9M player option for the new max deal.”

Reaves, who was undrafted, has been part of the Lakers since 2021. Last season was his best in his career, averaging 23.3 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 rebounds during the regular season, while his numbers slightly decreased in the Playoffs. There, he averaged 20 points, 5.8 assists, and four rebounds.

Los Angeles Lakers ended their Playoff run in the Western Conference Semifinals, losing to the Oklahoma City Thunder (4-0).
