Nemanja Jokic, the older brother of Denver Nuggets superstar Nikola Jokic, has successfully transitioned from a protective family advisor into a credentialed professional by becoming a certified NBA agent, Serbian outlet Meridian Sports relayed on Tuesday.

The middle of the three brothers had to navigate the strict licensing protocols dictated by the National Basketball Players Association, which stands as the sole governing body authorized to issue the official license required to negotiate contracts with league franchises. The former collegiate player turned team executive for Serbian club KK Joker Sombor completed the strict application process. This comprehensive vetting routine included detailed background screening, scrutinizing academic records, financial histories, and public footprints, alongside an in-person examination covering the complex league collective bargaining agreement. Aspiring agents must master intricate salary cap mechanics, trade restrictions, and player bonus structures to pass this demanding evaluation, which requires ongoing annual dues and active player representation to remain valid over rolling five-year periods.

This milestone marks a significant evolution for Nemanja, who spent years alongside his brother Strahinja shielding Nikola from the sudden pitfalls of multi-million dollar contracts and American fame. This official credential elevates his sports management capabilities, moving him beyond informal oversight into an authorized capacity where he can execute high-stakes contract negotiations directly with front offices. By formally establishing his own independent footing within the industry, amid impending contract extension talks between the Joker and the Nuggets, he secured a strategic asset for the family’s long-term athletic and business ventures.
