The Milwaukee Bucks have solidified a key piece of their frontcourt future by securing forward Ousmane Dieng to a three-year, $17.5 million contract. The multi-year agreement, first reported by Shams Charania of ESPN on Tuesday, includes a team option for the final season, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.

The French small forward briefly entered the market as an unrestricted free agent after the Bucks elected not to extend an $8.77 million qualifying offer, opting instead to negotiate this longer, more cost-effective deal.

Originally selected 11th overall in the 2022 NBA Draft, presented by State Farm, the 23-year-old Villeneuve-sur-Lot native spent the first three and a half years of his NBA career with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Despite capturing a championship in 2025, Dieng struggled to find consistent playing time in a deeply crowded roster rotation. The narrative shifted significantly at the February trade deadline of the 2025–26 Regular Season, when the Wisconsin franchise acquired him in a three-team trade, granting the youngster a fresh environment to showcase his versatile skill set.

At Milwaukee, he flourished with expanded responsibility under the Bucks. Over 30 games, which included 20 starting assignments, he averaged 11.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists in nearly 27 minutes per game. His late-season development was highlighted by a brilliant career-high 36-point performance.

This surge fully convinced the front office of his long-term value. As the franchise enters a rebuilding phase following the departure of Greek superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo to the Miami Heat, Dieng faces a massive opportunity to secure either a permanent starting spot or a focal reserve role.
