The Dallas Mavericks traded for Santi Aldama and draft rights to Tarik Biberovic

Santi Aldama has been traded from the Memphis Grizzlies to the Dallas Mavericks, while AJ Johnson, a protected 2030 Warriors first-round pick, and two future second-round picks went the other way.

This information was confirmed by Shams Charania.

“The Memphis Grizzlies are trading Santi Aldama to the Dallas Mavericks for AJ Johnson, a protected 2030 Warriors first-round pick and two future second-round picks, sources tell ESPN. The Mavericks also acquire the draft rights to Tarik Biberovic, sources said. The Warriors pick in 2030 is protected 1 to 20, then turns into a second if not conveyed.”

Besides Aldama, the Mavericks also received the trade rights to Tarik Biberovic, currently a member of Fenerbahce, who was selected 56th overall in the 2023 draft by the Grizzlies.

Aldama is coming off a career season, averaging 14 points and 6.7 rebounds over 43 games. On the other hand, Johnson played 11 games for Dallas, averaging 3.9 points per game.
