Bogdan Bogdanovic is preparing for his first season with the Houston Rockets and has made competing for an NBA championship his primary goal.

The Serbian national team captain is currently working out in Herceg Novi, Montenegro, ahead of another campaign in the United States.

As always, it is a new contract, a new challenge and a new team,” Bogdanovic told RTHN. “I signed with Houston, I’m happy, and we’ll see what this year brings. I hope that beginning my preparations here will bring me good luck.”

Following previous spells with the Sacramento Kings, Atlanta Hawks and Los Angeles Clippers, Bogdanovic believes his NBA experience has shown him what is required to remain at the highest level.

My years in the NBA have taught me that you have to work on every aspect of the game, but discipline and continuity are the most important things,” he said. “I’m still trying to remain as disciplined as possible in my approach to the game, and we’ll see how far that takes me.

The 33-year-old is now focused on staying healthy and helping Houston compete at the highest level.

For this season, my first goal is to stay healthy, achieve team success and put myself in a position to compete for an NBA championship,” Bogdanovic added. “That would be a huge step forward.

Although he acknowledged that returning to Partizan remains a dream, Bogdanovic stressed that his full attention is on the Rockets.

I have now signed with Houston, and my mind is completely there. I can’t think about what might happen in two, three or four years.
