Houston Rockets forward Amen Thompson has agreed to a five-year, $208 million rookie-scale contract extension with the franchise, according to sources cited by ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The new deal includes a 10% trade kicker, further cementing Thompson’s place as a cornerstone of the Rockets’ long-term plans.

Thompson, 23, has emerged as one of Houston’s most versatile and promising young players since the team selected him with the No. 4 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.

The multi-position standout took another significant step forward last season, leading the NBA in minutes played while posting career highs across several key statistical categories. Thompson averaged 18.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game, establishing himself as an increasingly influential presence on both ends of the floor.
