Los Angeles Clippers rookie Baba Miller is eager to face Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Following practice on Tuesday, the Spanish forward-center named the specific NBA superstar he wants to match up against. “Probably Giannis,” he explained. “He’s been one of my favorite players to watch growing up, so that would be exciting.”
Standing at 6-foot-11, 2.11 meters, the 22-year-old forward patterns parts of his game after the Greek Freak. Facing his childhood idol, now with the Miami Heat, will mark a major milestone.
Drafted 36th overall in June, the former Real Madrid prospect is adjusting to the league. Miller is focused on absorbing knowledge from his new environment.
“More than about myself, I feel like I’m learning a lot from my teammates and my coaches, just adapting to this play style, to the pace of play, to physicality,” he said. “Having such high-level players on my team and high-level coaches, the past two months I’ve been learning a lot.”
“It’s an adjustment,” he added about moving to the NBA, but emphasized his steady growth. “Every day I’m taking steps in the right direction, working hard, trying to get better.”
Miller, who recently debuted for Spain’s senior national team during the FIBA World Cup 2027 Qualifiers, looks to bang with physical players like Antetokounmpo.
“I feel like my body is going to be very important, just being able to hit and play physically against guys my size,” he noted.
He already showed promise with nine points and six rebounds in the NBA Preseason 2026 opener against the Golden State Warriors in Honolulu on Sunday.
The Clippers finish exhibition play against the Toronto Raptors and Denver Nuggets before opening the 2026–27 Regular Season opposite the Sacramento Kings on October 21.
