The NBA is prohibiting a ban on certain betting types this season, including a player prop parlay often used in recent betting controversies, as per a league memo sent to sportsbook partners on Friday.

Bettors will be restricted from including the under on a single player’s stats within parlays, alongside additional betting markets deemed problematic by the league, according to information obtained by ESPN.

The league has also instructed its authorized gambling operators, like DraftKings and FanDuel, not to allow wagers on outcomes such as the winner of the opening tip, specific missed shots by players, and under bets on players anticipated to play less than 12 minutes in a game.

The new list of prohibited bets join restrictions from prior seasons, including bets on 10-day or two-way contract players, player props on turnovers, bets related to fouls, and bets related to missed free throws.

The NBA can control what partner sportsbooks offer through its agreements, and estimates that these partner sportsbooks cover over 99% of the U.S. betting market.
