Oklahoma City is signing Alex Abrines

Alex Abrines is ready to make the jump to the NBA, as the Oklahoma City Thunder decided to sign him this summer. Despite a contract with Barcelona until 2019 the time for him to cross the pond has come.

With Abrines on the exit door and two buyouts from the contracts of Tomas Satoransky and Abrines, it makes more than sense for Barcelona to add Victor Claver to its roster, also by paying a buy out to Valencia which had the “tanteo” right for the Spanish forward.

The buy out of Abrines is rumored to be 2 million euros and the fact that he was the no32 pick of the 2013 draft, gives to Oklahoma City the ability to sign him with a multi-year deal which is not restricted by the rookie salary scale and will pay him enough in order to cover also the buy out. According to NBA rules, the Thunder can contribute up to $650.000 for the buy out and the rest has to be paid by the player himself.
