NBA academies around the world, but not in Europe

By Eurohoops team/ info@eurohoops.net

As the Vertical reported, the NBA wants to create a system which will produce young basketball players of top talent outside the US borders.

To be exact “the NBA is undertaking a substantial initiative to open global basketball academies that target the recruitment and development of teenage players to create pathways to higher education and professional basketball”.

It’s an interesting idea and good way for the NBA to harvest the best talent available, where there’s not already a basketball infrastructure. That’s why no NBA academy will be open in Europe according to the report, at least from day one. The primary focus will be Africa, China, India and Australia.
