As “L’Equipe” revealed Clint Capela will not only miss Tuesday’s game against the Spurs but the MRI exam showed Capela suffered a broken fibula and will likely miss several weeks weeks of action.

Capela is getting another scan to confirm the injury but likely has a broken fibula, a bone between the knee and ankle, a person with knowledge of his medical visit told the Chronicle.

In the Rockets’ 111-109 win over the Timberwolves on Saturday, Capela left the game early in the second half after banging knees with Karl-Anthony Towns.

After two years on the bench, Capela (game averages of 11.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks), with his combination of length and quickness, emerged as a critical rim protector and pick-and-roll option for James Harden. Capela ranks third in the NBA in field goal percentage (64 percent) and 10th in points per game off the pick-and-roll.
