Sixers exercise contract options on T.J. McCollen, Richaun Holmes

Philadelphia 76ers head coach Brett Brown, who has been overseeing basketball operations on an interim basis after the club parted ways with Bryan Colangelo, announced that the Sixers exercised contract options with T.J. McConnell and Richaun Holmes.

The official announcement by the Sixers is as follows:

“Philadelphia 76ers Head Coach Brett Brown announced today that the team has exercised the fourth-year options on the contracts of guard T.J. McConnell and forward-center Richaun Holmes. By exercising their options, these players will be under contract with the 76ers for the 2018-19 season.”

McConnell has appeared in 238 games (69 starts) over his three seasons with the team recording an average of 6.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.1 assists in 22.9 minutes per game. He posted ten points, ten rebounds and 11 assists against New York Knicks on 12th of February 2018 as he became the first 76er ever to post a triple-double off the bench.

Holmes led the team in field goal percentage this past season with a mark of .560 and was among the best three 76ers in that category for the past three years. He has played in 156 games (20 starts) averaging 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game.
