The L.A. Lakers will guarantee the contract of Croatian center Ivica Zubac for the upcoming season, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.
Following a solid rookie season during which he averaged 7.5 points and 4.2 rebounds during 16 minutes per game, Zubac didn’t quite meet expectations in 2017-2018. His playing time was decreased to 9 minutes per game and so did his numbers that fell to 3.7 points and 2.9 rebounds.
The decision of the Lakers to not cut Zubac right now means that they still consider him an asset of sorts. Either for a trade or because of his potential and undeniable capabilities.
