Giannis Antetokounmpo on MVP race: I don’t know if I’m there yet

“All I care about is winning, to be honest with you” Giannis Antetokounmpo said following his 27-point, 21-rebound performance in the Toyota Center. He led the Milwaukee Bucks to their away victory against the Houston Rockets with his second 20-20 game of his NBA career. His 21 boards were a personal-high.

He was facing last year’s MVP James Harden on Wednesday and impressed with his performance in Houston. However, 24-year-old Antetokounmpo isn’t sure he’s already among the favorites for the 2018-19 Regular Season MVP honors.

“I know that one day it might happen. I don’t know if I’m there yet, but I’m going to do whatever it takes to get there, because that’s what I want to be” he said eluding any substantial talk on the MVP race.

In any case, the Greek Freak was 8/16 from the field, also had 11/14 free throws against the Rockets. He was clutch down the stretch in his latest MVP-caliber performance.
