Nowitzki’s retirement to reportedly include an ownership role in Dallas

After his record-breaking 21st NBA season with the Dallas Mavericks, Dirk Nowitzki recently acquired former player status. However, the 40-year-old German has no intention of parting ways with the Texans: “It’s not a goodbye. I’ll be around”. Building on the above comment, DallasBasketball.com reports that Mark Cuban is excited on the prospect of his long-time player being involved in the organization’s ownership.

“I’ll have that conversation with Dirk sometime in the near future. There are a lot of things involved to make it all work. But it would be awesome!” 60-year-old Cuban, owner of the Mavs, mentioned exclusively to DallasBasketball.com on the subject. Nowitzki himself admitted during Thursday’s Exit Interviews Day that he’d be honored to take on an ownership role.
