The Milwaukee Bucks made Thanasis Antetokounmpo’s signing official via press release on Tuesday. Eurohoops already reported on the 26-year-old Greek forward signing a two-year contract to join his brother and reigning NBA MVP, Giannis Antetokounmpo, at Milwaukee.

“Thanasis is a young player with great experience at the top level overseas,” GM Jon Horst mentioned commenting on the former New York Knicks player and added: “He brings toughness, athleticism, character and a high IQ. We are thrilled to have him join the Bucks.”

Antetokounmpo was the 51st pick in the 2014 NBA draft and went on to take part in a couple of games with the Knicks during the 2015-16 season. After launching his professional career with Filathlitikos, he joined the G League and the Delaware 87ers, also played for the Westchester Knicks after the 2014 draft.

He since made his way back to Europe inking a contract in Spain with MoraBanc Andorra. In 2017 he joined Panathinaikos OPAP and helped the Greens win a pair of Greek Basket League Championships and the Greek Cup in 2019. He averaged 3.8 points per contest in EuroLeague action over the past two seasons.
