The Israeli Winner League announced that the 2020-21 season will be concluded with a bubble tournament in Eilat which will start on the 20th of May if the rocket attacks from Hamas continue.

The Winner League board also decided that if a foreign player leaves a team, then his club can replace him with another foreign or domestic player as long as the latter wasn’t a member of another team of the championship after 5/5.

Maccabi Rishon’s Jeremy Pargo and Darryl Monroe, Hapoel Jerusalem’sTashawn Thomas, Stanton Kidd, Malcolm Hill, and foreign players of Hapoel Holon are among those who have already left the country according to various Israeli reports and Eurohoops sources. Jamil Wilson of Rishon is also expected to leave and many other players may follow him.

The league’s foreign players had issued a joint statement asking for the season to be canceled for safety reasons. However, despite the extreme warlike conditions in the country, their plea was not considered.

The Winner League also announced that only one team will be relegated at the end of the regular season. 14 clubs may participate in the 2021-22 edition of the championship.
