It is expected that Velimir Perasovic will opt out from his contract with Unics Kazan and that in the coming weeks, he will look for a new club.

This all comes just a few days after the conclusion of the VTB League, where UNICS played in the Final but was defeated 4-0 by CSKA Moscow, who became champions once again.

Perasovic has a brilliant playing career behind him, during which he was a three-time European champion from 1989 to 1991, followed by an excellent coaching career.

It all started in 2003 in Split, then he led Sevilla, Tau Ceramica, Estudiantes, Cibona, Anadolu Efes, and he worked in Valencia for three years, from 2012 to 2015.

He briefly served as the head coach of Croatia, after which he led Baskonia twice and once again Anadolu Efes, and he has been working at UNICS since 2021. He managed to win the VTB League with the team from Kazan in 2023.

A few days ago, UNICS extended Alexey Shved’s contract for another season
