Despite trailing in double-digits for a large chunk of the Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Round 12 contest, AS Monaco rallied all the way to an overtime win, 95-82, over Metropolitans 92 Sunday.

Super prospect Victor Wembanyama was the key part of building a 14-point lead in the first period but was limited in crunch time. Scoring 27 points with 11/20 field goals was not enough to prevent a second consecutive loss in the French league. Grabbing a couple of rebounds in overtime upped his total to 11 to go along with three assists and three steals. The latest solid showing stretched over 40 minutes.

Dominating the extra period, Elie Okobo and Donatas Motiejunas scored five points apiece to finish with a season-high 28 points and 15 points, respectively. Monaco star Mike James in a rough shooting night was held to nine points but dished out a game-high nine assists. Jordan Loyd (nose) was sidelined for the team coached by Sasa Obradovic.

From La Roca Team to fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participant, LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne made short work of Paris, 94-60, also Sunday. Amine Noua reset his season-best at 21 points and pulled down a game-high seven rebounds in the one-sided affair. Also a new personal best for the 2022-23 season, Antoine Diot followed with 18 points, including 4/6 triples. T.J. Parker’s side jumped to 7-6 with Anthony Polite sitting out alongside Joffrey Lauvergne (right knee).

On Saturday, James Palmer Jr. connected at the buzzer in a 26-point effort to lift JL Bourg over Nanterre 92, 85-84. Marcus Keene scored 28 points and Paul Lacombe chipped in 21 more points, both individual season-highs for SIG Strasbourg in the away win, 78-74, against Le Mans. Mike Scott set his top professional scoring showing at 32 points as SLUC Nancy rolled ADA Blois, 97-75.

Among a couple of big scoring showings Friday, David Holston fired in 27 points, a personal best in his latest campaign based in northeast France, as JDA Dijon edged Roanne, 101-96, and upped its domestic tally to 8-3. Snapping the streak of Limoges CSP, D.J. Seeley poured a season-high 24 points lifting BCM Gravelines-Dunkerque to the win, 62-50.
