Galatasaray’s team bus suffers attack from people throwing stones

Returning to Istanbul following an away game in Round 10 of the 2025-26 Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Regular Season, the team bus of Galatasaray MCT Technic was attacked by a group of unidentified people throwing stones. A new bus arrived to complete the team trip from Bursa to Istanbul.

No injuries were reported. However, the initial bus suffered extended damage.

Besides confirming the assault, Galata provided photographic and video evidence via a post on social media on Saturday evening.

The team coached by Yakub Sekizkok previously fell in overtime to Bursaspor in Tofas Arena, and dropped to 6-4 in the domestic league. At the continental level, a 4-1 start in Group E of the Basketball Champions League Season X, powered by Ameresco SUNEL, has clinched a berth in the Round of 16, with one game remaining in the Regular Season, against Igokea m:tel in SD Laktasi on December 17. Before the next BCL outing, the Lions host Yukatel Merkezefendi in Turkcell Basketball Development Center on Friday.
