Fenerbahçe joins Beşiktaş in Turkish Cup final

Anadolu Efes is out of the Turkish Cup after Beşiktaş claimed a 91–82 semifinal victory to advance to the final.

Dušan Alimpijević’s team built a 14-point lead by halftime, but Efes fought back and even moved in front early in the fourth quarter. Beşiktaş responded in decisive fashion, regaining control down the stretch to secure the win and a place in the title game.

Sertaç Şanlı led the winners with 18 points, Jonah Mathews added 12, while Devon Dotson contributed 11 and Ismaël Kamagate finished with 10 points and seven rebounds.

For Efes, PJ Dozier paced the scoring with 24 points, Ercan Osmani added 14, Jordan Loyd had 13 with six rebounds, and Cole Swider chipped in 10 points.

Beşiktaş will meet defending champion Fenerbahçe in the battle for the Cup, in a rematch of last year’s final, after Šarūnas Jasikevičius’ side defeated Türk Telekom 86–78 in the other semifinal.

Fenerbahçe had to work hard for the win, as the Ankara team led until midway through the third quarter. The defending champions then took control and eventually secured the victory.

Talen Horton-Tucker starred with 29 points and seven rebounds for the winners, while Wade Baldwin added 17 points and seven boards. Mikael Jantunen followed with 11 points.

For Türk Telekom, Jaleen Smith scored 12 points, Kyle Allman and Marko Simonović added 11 each, while Uroš Trifunović finished with 10.
