Alejandro “Aíto” García Reneses, born in Madrid, Spain, on 20 December 1946, is one of the most prestigious European basketball coaches. He has won nine Liga ACB titles, all with Barcelona. He has won all the major European titles, except the EuroLeague, although he was a EuroLeague runner-up on three occasions in 1990, 1996 and 1997.
Reneses has spent most of his coaching career in Catalonia. He spent 13 seasons inBarcelona and also in Joventut Badalona, where he has been in two different periods between 1983 and 1985 and also from July 2003 to May 2008. He has also coached Unicaja Malaga, Sevilla and more recently Gran Canaria.
In June 2008, he became the head coach of the Spanish national basketball team and won the silver medal in the Olympics.
