Olimpia Milano guard Sergio Rodriguez drove a distance of approximately 1,500 kilometers by car in order to return to Spain from Italy with his family according to a report by Marca.

Rodriguez and the rest of the Milano players received permission by their team to return to their home countries in light of the suspension of all sports activities due to the coronavirus pandemic. Since there are no flights from Italy to Spain (and vice versa), Rodriguez had to drive the 1,500 kilometers that separate Milan and the city of Alicante in Spain, where he and his family will be spending their time during the suspension of the season

Chacho, together with his wife Ana and their two daughters spent more than 15 hours in the car to reach Alicante, a port city located in the southeastern part of Spain.

Milan and northern Italy, in general, have been the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the country. As of Saturday afternoon, the death toll in Italy has jumped to 4,032 while the overall confirmed cases have been 47,021.
