El pívot de los Utah Jazz, Rudy Gobert, rompió a llorar al comentar que no fue seleccionado para jugar en el próximo All-Star.
Después de responder a varias preguntas sobre su asencia y al decir que sentía que le habían «faltado al respeto», Gobert se emocionó y salió de la zona de prensa.

Quin Snyder, el entrenador de los Jazz, había mencionado que su defensor estrella «debería ser All-Star» ya que es «uno de los» jugadores que más impacto crean en la liga.
Gobert sigue siendo considerado favorito para ganar el premio al Mejor Defensor por segunda temporada consecutiva.
