Croatian big Karlo Matkovic was selected with the 52nd pick in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft Thursday and could spend another season in Europe before a possible move to the NBA.

According to a report by mozzartsport.com, Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana is close to bringing the Croatian center back to the team in order to incorporate him into their roster next year.

Matkovic, 21, signed his first professional contract with Cedevita in April 2019 and was loaned to Beograd for the 2019-20 season. In 2020-21, he moved to Mega Mozzart once again on loan from Cedevita and remained on the team for the 2021-22 campaign.

2001-born Matkovic averaged 11.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 21.4 minutes on the court across 25 ABA League contests this past season.

Cedevita has sealed its participation for the 2022-23 7DAYS EuroCup season, while they will also compete on two more fronts, the ABA League and the Slovenian League.
