After traveling to his native Israel to attend his son’s wedding, Prometey coach Ronen Ginzburg has been unable to return to the Ukrainian team due to the declaration of a national state of emergency in the country following the attack launched by the Palestinian organization Hamas.

“Our Neno [Ronen Ginzburg] went to Israel for his son’s wedding and he was supposed to join the team already on Monday in Turkey,” Volodymyr Dubinsky, president of Prometey, said in a statement, referring to Prometey’s upcoming EuroCup game against Besiktas (10/10). “But today we all learned about the terrible thing that happened in his country, about the terrible rocket attack by the Palestinian movement Hamas.”

“Fortunately, our Neno called in this morning. Everything is fine with him, he was in a bomb shelter but at that moment the roads are blocked, the airports are closed and there are interruptions with the Internet,” Dubinsky added, mentioning that Ginzubrg is in “satisfactory” mood.

“Our coach is in a satisfactory mood. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time such terrible events have happened in Israel
