Naz Mitrou-Long signs a three-year contract with PAOK

Naz Mitrou-Long returned to Greece after one season in Napoli and decided to play in the same city as his brother Elijah, who however plays for PAOK’s “eternal” rival, Aris.

The 33-year-old Mitrou-Long signed with PAOK for three years, significantly strengthening the Greek core of Trinchieri’s team and it is possible that he will finish his career in Thessaloniki.

Together with Tyree, Calathes, Hudgins, Bazinas and Marcus Foster, he will form PAOK’s backcourt.

Also, PAOK has already signed Kyle Alexander and RaiQuan Gray.

“PAOK BC announces the agreement with Naz Mitrou-Long for the next three years. The experienced guard, who has significant experience from the NBA, the EuroLeague and top European leagues, will wear the PAOK jersey until 2029 and is a very important and high-quality addition to our team’s roster.

Nazareth Mitrou-Long was born on August 3, 1993, in Ontario, Canada and holds both Greek and Canadian passports. He is 1.93m tall and plays as a guard. He played at Iowa State University, from which he graduated in 2017, averaging 15.1 points, 4.6 assists and 2.7 rebounds.

He played for three seasons (2017–20) in the NBA, appearing in 20 games with the Utah Jazz and the Indiana Pacers, while during the same period and for four seasons in total he played in the G League with the Salt Lake City Stars and the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. He averaged 17 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists in 99 G League games over a four-year span (2017–21).

In 2021 he came to Europe for the first time and played in Italy with Germani Brescia, where he had an outstanding season, averaging 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 35 games. He was named Rookie of the Year in the Italian league.

The following season (2022–23) he played for Armani Milan, with which he won the Italian championship. In 35 games in the Italian league and the EuroLeague he averaged 7.5 points, 2.1 rebounds and 3 assists.

He started the 2023–24 season with Zalgiris Kaunas, but from November 2023 he continued his career with Olympiacos. In essentially two seasons with the “red-and-whites” he played in a total of 52 games in Greece and Europe, averaging 4.2 points, 1.4 rebounds and 1.8 assists, and he won the Greek Cup (2024), the Super Cup (2024), and became champion of the Stoiximan GBL (2025).

During the past season (2025–26) he played in Italy with Napoli and in 22 games he averaged 13 points, 5.6 rebounds and 4.1 assists.

Naz Mitrou-Long is an international with the Greek national basketball team, for which he made his debut on 21/11/2024, scoring 12 points in the game against Great Britain.”
