Maccabi Tel Aviv suspended the contracts and frozen the payments of players until EuroLeague and the ELPA (EuroLeague Players Association) reach an agreement on the salary cuts percentage.

The Israeli club president Simon Mizrahi noted that the measures are only temporary and that, in fact, all clubs in the European elite competition are doing the same.

“Until a common solution is found, all contracts are frozen. All Euroleague teams have frozen their wages to players until then, it is temporary,” he said, per ONE, and estimated that it shouldn’t take much longer for the two sides to agree.

“I understand that the gaps between the players and the management of the Euroleague are not great and hope that within two weeks it will end. Whatever the Euroleague decides we will act accordingly. I have never been in such a situation in all my years, I hope it ends soon.”
