ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne players and President Tony Parker stand in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement and the team will be wearing the phrase”Equality For All” on their jerseys during the “We’re Back” Preseason Tournament in Valencia (tip-off Tuesday).

Parker commented on this symbolic gesture and how it resonates with him, following his years of experience in the USA: “Throughout my childhood, my athletic career and today as a leader, I have fought against inequality and discrimination. The club president and the man that I am to this day advocates unity, respect for all and living together! It is a great pride to see ASVEL engage in this fight”.

ASVEL captain Charles Kahudi also endorsed this move and how the NBA boycott inspired them to focus on this cause: “Obviously, we were very touched by the unfortunate events that followed one another, but also by the boycott by NBA players. Within the ASVEL lockers, there was very quickly a desire from everyone to be active, to carry a message and to make as many people as possible aware of this cause which must affect us all.”
