A couple of COVID-19 cases have been confirmed at LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne, the team announced Friday evening.

The players returning positive tests for coronavirus will be quarantined for 14 days, according to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague health and safety protocols, as noted in the official update.

The remaining players and members of the coaching staff tested negative, adds the press release issued by the French club.

ASVEL is scheduled to host FC Barcelona tonight (21:00 CET), Friday. Injured players, Raymar Morgan, Victor Wembanyama, David Lighty, and Antoine Diot have been already ruled out for the EuroLeague Regular Season Round 11 fixture.

Working through the limited options, the team led by T.J. Parker is fresh off the home loss to Real Madrid on Tuesday. The fellow ACB powerhouse coming in completes the latest double-game week of Europe’s premier continental club competition.

At 6-4, the French side currently sits in a two-way tie with Olympiacos in sixth place. Barca is 8-2 and half a win behind archrival and standings leader Madrid. Cory Higgins and Alex Abrines will remain sidelined for the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius, while Nick Calathes is considered a game-time decision after finishing Tuesday’s home game versus CSKA Moscow with leg discomfort.

Following the clash with Barcelona at Astroballe, ASVEL will be back in action hosting Metropolitans 92 in Betclic Elite LNB Pro A Regular Season Round 9 on Sunday. Up next, Round 12 of the EuroLeague Regular Season featuring a visit at French rival AS Monaco next Friday.
