Following the early exit in the domestic affair opposite Happy Casa Brindisi, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan updated the status of Shavon Shields.

Shields, 28, will be re-evaluated in the next two days, the team announced Monday noting that the player reported no damage to his left ankle.

Per the press release: “Shavon Shields’ left ankle, which forced the player, in Brindisi, to leave the court for good during the first quarter after landing on an opponent foot, reported no damage. The player will be re-evaluated in the next 48 hours.”

The Nebraska product recently returned to action after being sidelined with a foot injury for nearly five months, since very early in the 2022-23 season. Making his way to two games of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, he did not score putting in only 1.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 0.5 steals per contest, and had three points in one LBA Serie A appearance.

Pending further evaluation on the latest setback, he is considered doubtful to play against Real Madrid in WiZink Center Thursday. Following the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 29 to Round 22 of Italy’s top division, Milan will play host to co-leader of the domestic standings Virtus Segafredo Bologna Sunday.

Luigi Datome (left ankle), Paul Biligha (right knee), and Devon Hall (right knee) are the remaining players currently forced to the injury list for the team coached by Ettore Messina. Despite numerous issues, the Milan outfit was the winning side in 11 of the 12 last outings across all competitions.
