In the 76-74 victory in the Athens Derby between Olympiacos and Panathinaikos, Shaquielle McKissic was once again one of the protagonists for the red-and-white side, contributing 12 points.

After the game, the American shooting guard spoke about his team’s performance. “You never want to lose. We always want to fight and win, whatever the timing. That’s what we did today. We didn’t underestimate them at all, we knew they would be determined and that they would give everything. Today was one of the most enjoyable matches”, he said in an interview with Eurohoops.

The former Victoria Libertas Pesaro player also commented on the 12-derby winning streak by Olympiacos against the Greens. “It means nothing. We’ve got to play in the playoffs again, we’re going to keep fighting, we’re going to get back here. There is a lot of time, anything can be done. We have to focus on ourselves and work harder. In these games and in such venues, you have to play very hard, we are talking about one of the top derbies in Europe. You must always respect the opponent, win or lose. We’ll see what happens next time”, McKissic added.

Finally, Shaquielle McKissic revealed where he wants to end his career. “It’s a long shot to retire as an Olympiakos player, but that’s the plan. I feel like every night I give it my all, but at the same time, I have to feel comfortable with this whole contract situation. I have shown time and time again who I am, if we sit at the table and everything is as it should be, if we find it in everything, then I 1.000% want to finish my career here. I want to stay here, that’s the bottom line. As well as feeling like I should get what I deserve“, the Arizona Sun Devils product said.
