The ongoing situation between Olympiacos and Thomas Walkup has taken another turn, with further developments expected in the coming days.
According to the reigning European champions, the international guard submitted a unilateral written notice seeking to terminate his contract and requested his immediate release.
“Thomas Walkup today notified Olympiacos BC in writing of the unilateral termination of his contract, requesting his immediate release without cause.
Olympiacos BC categorically states that the player’s contract remains valid until the summer of 2027. Consequently, we expect him to arrive in Greece on Thursday, August 20, for the scheduled medical and fitness examinations.
Otherwise, Olympiacos BC reserves the right to pursue every legal remedy available to protect its rights,” the club announced.
The two sides are expected to resolve their differences in a court of law, per sources.
It will be a surprise if Walkup travels to Greece and wears Olympiacos’ jersey again. The relationship between the two sides has deteriorated past the point of no return.
